Maija Haavisto, the author of Reviving the Broken Marionette, was a speaker at the 2nd European LDN conference and wrote a report of it. Some more very promising research about LDN for fibromyalgia is going to be released soon. Also, the second Finnish version of the book, called CFS:n ja fibromyalgian hoito, is going to be out from Finn Lectura in a few weeks.

Unfortunately there are some bad news about Ampligen, but luckily there are some good news too. You again have a chance to win one of two electronic copies of the book in a holiday contest. Also, the next Finnish version of Reviving the Broken Marionette will be published by Finn Lectura in 2010, about three years before the original version. The original Finnish version was only about CFS/ME treatments, but the new book will feature fibromyalgia treatments as well, just like the English one.

The FDA still hasn't released the final decision on Ampligen. It is already almost a month late from the last expected date of release and there is no information on when it will finally be out. Several new CFS/ME studies of value are detailed on the Updates page, however.

FDA postponed their Ampligen decision from May 25th by a further 1-2 weeks. However, there is some intriguing new research about fibromyalgia described on the Updates page.

The author of the book, Maija Haavisto, is now working for the online magazine Suite101. She will be writing about a variety of topics including food, travel and books, but at least half of the articles will be about medicine, most of them related to CFS/ME and fibromyalgia. You can get an RSS feed of her articles.

There are also some bad news: it is now official that the Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome has been discontinued. This was the only medical journal focusing on CFS/ME. This is a real blow to CFS/ME research.

In addition I have released a short promo video for the book.
